PM appeals to Baba Ramdev to call off his Hunger strike

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday went the extra mile to persuade yoga guru Ramdev not to go ahead with his hunger strike from June 4, promising him to find a "practical and pragmatic" solution to tackle the issue of corruption. "This is not a personal issue. We all agree with Ramdev that corruption is a big problem and that we are committed to tackling it with all the resources at our disposal," Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a function at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The remarks by the Prime Minister came close on the heels of a letter he had written to Ramdev "welcoming his constructive suggestions to improve governance".

10 killed in plane crash in Faridabad, Plane crash nightmare for residents in Faridabad locality

New Delhi:  A nine-seater chartered aircraft with seven people on board crashed into a densely-populated residential colony in Faridabad on Wednesday night, killing ten people, including all seven on board. (See Pictures) 

Three of those killed in the accident were residents of the two-storey house in Parvatia Colony into which the plane crashed. All three were women - identified as the wife, daughter and daughter-in-law of the owner of the house. Ten people were said to be inside the house at the time of the crash. While the owner and his son escaped unharmed, four others were injured.

‘Rajinikanth died’ rumour makes his family furious, Rajinikanth Health Condition, Rajinikanth may go abroad for treatment

Rumours like Rajinikanth Dead, Rajinikanth died and Rajainkanth health condition has been doing rounds on the internet for last four days.

A furious wife of south Indian megastar, Latha, came out in the media and rubbished all speculations about her husband’s health.

She categorically denied and complication in Rajini’s health and said that the actor is responding well to the treatment and he is in good health.

An upset Latah said that the superstar is absolutely fine and taking proper rest at home. He also urged his fans to don’t give ears to any rumours regarding Rajini’s health.

Earlier, millions of Rajini’s fans hit the internet to know about his health condition. The actor was admitted to the hospital after he complained of allergic bronchitis and viral fever.

Reports doing the rounds suggest that results for class ten of CBSE will be declared on May 16 while those for class 12 will be declared on May 23.

The class ten exams were conducted in March this year and the results of these exam are available on the CBSE website.


According to reports, of the 10.6 lakh students who appeared for the exams about 6 lakh had opted for Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation or CCE.

According to the CCE system marks are replaced by grades, which are granted after evaluating a student's performance in a series of curricular and extra-curricular evaluations alongside his/her academic performance.

The system is said to helps students who are not very good in academics but perform well in other fields such as arts, humanities, music, sports etc.

About 7.6 lakh students have appeared for class 12 examinations and are expected to get their results by next Monday.

CBSE 10th result 2011 on May 16, CBSE results online

According to the official website of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the Class X results are expected to be declared on May 16, 2011 at its official website. The results can be checked at www.cbseresults.nic.in.

And the Class XII results are expected to be released on May 23, 2011.

Around 10,61,566 students gave the CBSE Class 10 exam this year, out of which more than six lakh students opted for the CCE, i.e., the school-based evaluation.

Rajinikanth death rumours are false, says family

"Rajinikanth dead" was one of the top Twitter trends Friday afternoon, all because of a false rumour circulating about superstar's death. "Rajinikanth death" and "rajinikanth died" were also the top two most searched for keywords on Google India.

Although later, Dismissing reports about his deteriorating health as rumours, the family of superstar Rajnikanth today said he was fine and had to take some rest following his recent hospitalisation.

"I don't know where these rumours started from. These are false. He is in good health and is resting at home," his wife Latha told reporters.

Online reports suggested that the 60-year-old actor, who was hospitalised recently with allergic bronchitis and viral infection, was in critical condition.

Thanking his colleagues, fans and all well-wishers, Latha said they were right now not particular on proceeding with the filming of 'Rana', his latest venture, where the 'Enthiran' star plays three roles and romances Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone.

Recently, Rajnikanth was admitted to a private hospital for allergic bronchitis and viral fever, just a week after he was admitted in the same hospital for exhaustion.

He had suffered from exhaustion on the first day of the shoot of 'Rana', being directed by K S Ravikumar.
