Rs. 500 Fine For Aamir Khan


A local court on Wednesday imposed a fine of Rs 500 jointly on actor Aamir Khan, director Ketan Mehta, producer Bobby Mehta and others for failing to appear in court in relation to a five-year-old case.

The order was passed by civil judge, junior division, Azad Singh while hearing a writ petition alleging wrong portrayal of freedom fighter Mangal Pandey's image in the movie The Rising released in 2005, sources from prosecution said.

Chairman, Film Censor Board and Director of Publications are also party in the case. The court has fixed September 13 as the next date of hearing.

The petetioner alleged that Aamir and the rest of the persons have made several distortions in their film that was based upon the life story of the first freedom fighter Mangal Pandey.
