A Rajinikanth fan from Coimbatore attempted suicide in a bid to donate his kidney to the matinee idol, who is undergoing treatment in Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre, Singapore.Rajniraja Arockiasamy (40) of Sundarapuram in Kurichi has been admitted to hospital after he reportedly consumed an overdose of sleeping pills. On seeing him lying unconscious, relatives and neighbours rushed him to hospital.
After recovery, Rajniraja, who heads the fans' association activities in his native place, told doctors that he wanted to end his life and donate the kidney to the superstar. Earlier, there were reports that Rajinikanth might undergo kidney transplantation due to renal failure.
